Here at Fortuna, we believe in stacking the odds in your favor.

Our team is made up of a family of full-time rescue professionals living and working in Alaska under some of the harshest conditions on the planet. We want to share our decades of experience in the real world actually using survival gear and medical equipment to save lives to help prevent disaster in your life. We are joined by family who are doing these activities with us every day and supporting our efforts to provide the best education and equipment possible to prevent an adventure becoming an emergency.

Our Team

  • Micah McKinnis

    Part mountain goat, part rescue professional, all Alaskan. The first person you want to show up in an emergency, and the ideal person to teach you how to avoid them.

  • Kristen McKinnis

    Mother, Pianist, logistical powerhouse. Prone to random acts of dancing, service, and musical theory education - not usually all three at the same time.

  • Nate Graber

    Tall, glasses, toe socks, mad ju-jitsu skills, and problem solver extraordinaire. Unsatiable desire to make things better, lighter, more functional.

  • Michael Rogers

    Not as tall, gear nerd, usually found flying paragliders, climbing, or skiing. May also be found behind a sewing machine.
